    Thank you for the "hoenst review" video; I'm tired of Apple fanboys being like "Ooooh, MacOS is the best; now we can snap Windows"; seriously??? Just similar to when you watch movies and TV shows, you think like every person in the world is only using Macs, they managed to market themselves as "the only company who respects privacy" (my words of course), but, well, one should be naive (cough stupid) to belive that "FBI wanted to backdoor iPhone, Tim Cook said no"!!!! .... well, I guess, good for people who belive that!!!

      While I love Apple's stuff, switched from Linux to Mac back when I worked at Google (2014), and haven't touched Windows in years (except for an upcoming video). I do find this blind trust of them, and blind distrust of Meta/Google very funny. Apple and software really doesn't mix (says I, as I type this on MacOS).

      @@hml Funny enough, says I, as I also type everything on a Mac, but .... to my defense, I have to use a Mac because of work, and just the window management is enough for me to just hate it! Super unintuitive IMO. The fact that they added window snapping after 2 million years simply sums up how they think about window management!

      Yeah, that's absolutely crazy. $10b and nothing to show for it, is one of the biggest failures in tech. They also had some of the brightest minds in AI working for them, and all they have to show is catch-up with sharing to ChatGPT... 🤯

    So all the job listings for prompt engineers aren't happening? Does this concept scare you or something? Coursera is scamming people to get certificates that wont be viable? 6/13/24 a year later from this video being made prompt engineer certainly is "happening".

    • @hml
      @hml 18 днів тому

      Does it really? As somebody who uses prompts everyday, the point I made here is even more true now, than when I made this video - Google/Apple/Microsoft image generators don't use prompts but "concepts" that you select, or sketches that you draw. Dev tools like CrewAI/LangChain move from purely prompts to "tools" and "agents", even if they use prompts under the hood for some things. On the Google Pixel image editing app, you don't write "remove the guy in the background", you circle the guy, and the AI figures out what to remove...

    • @hml
      @hml 18 днів тому

      I said that prompts are a "crutch" until AI gets smart enough to figure out what is it that we mean, and then give us better tools to interact with the models, and that's exactly what is happening.

      It's a tool, and the issue is not with the tool itself, but how it's used. I use it to open my own doors, garage, office, control the TV in at my mom's, since she lost her remote, and control the AC in hotels in rooms I cannot control it otherwise... Nothing illegal. Others could use it to brute force an unsecure door... Why are axes, saws and hammers legal? After all - you could use an axe to break a door, saw to cut somebody's gas line, and a hammer to break a window, or worse... And yet - they are still legal! Why?

    Great video. Sora will be good for surreal videos. I'm interested to use it for cool space videos. It would be cool if we could train it using specific footage. That's an interesting idea! I doubt that OpenAI will allows us to train on custom footage, maybe only to fine tune it? But with DALL-E, we still cannot train it... However, I'm sure other projects (SVD?), will allows us to do that shortly, the same way Stable Diffusion can be trained on basically anything for image generation. We're starting to see more and more open models for video generation. About the block universe model - that's a fascinating thought! It really does!

      Using AI tools is a skill in itself. Yes, it can do pretty crazy stuff even when not prompted properly, but just think about a 3D rendering software that can generate an amazing image with just the default "cube", that you (probably) couldn't draw by hand... by from that cube to Toy Story or Avatar, there's still a very long way to go. Same thing with AI - I've spent the last 5 months learning how to generate AI images with Stable Diffusion, and I'm still far from an expect, and that's after I have almost 20 years experience with Photoshop, and know Blender since version 0.9. If it were up to me, I wouldn't call it "Artificial Intelligence", but rather 'Augmented Intelligence".

      You mean you can use it in your browser on Win10, right? Because the ChatGPT Desktop that OpenAI introduced last week, that supports the new voice chat and screen sharing, is only announced for MacOS, with no date for a Windows release, and that's after Microsoft invested $10B in OpenAI. So why there's no Windows version?

    I don't know why people are assuming a Omni has any religious connotation or that OpenAI is being pretentious. Have you ever heard of Omnidirectional? Omnivore? Omnibus? So, let's have omnium chill out and think before just repeating what one person with an ignorant concept of the word “omni” means to define your opinion. Can you have your own opinions without anyone telling you what and how to think? If we continue this way, omnium is lost.

      I love what you did there :-) And yet, I do think that "omnipotent" is most commonly associated with god. Just try searching "omnipotent" on Google, the first answer is "(of a deity) having unlimited power". So is GPT-4o "a deity"? :-)

      Pi as in a Raspberry Pi? Not only I've seen it, I've made many videos on this channel of Pi projects. How does this compare? The Pi voice assistants are robotic and monotonous, like Siri, Google Assistant or Alexa. This is fluid, flirtatious, and full of emotions. It also doesn't stop to think for 30 seconds before answering. After seeing a bunch of TTS engines, nothing I've seen so far compares to what they achieved here.
